I thought they were stink bugs 😭 I have so many adults, I browsed through the comments but I didn’t see this. Why don’t we cut the leafs off on some ? I accidentally grew pumpkins this year so I don’t know what I’m doing
What happens when the paper bag gets rained on?
Alot of people has suggested to spray it with a water sealant.
It’s too bad the plants haven’t developed some form of natural defense against these bastards! I’ve kept my plants clean, growing vertical as best as I can and these bastards show up again this year but much much earlier than last season. I tried neem spray last year and it did nothing for the adults
I tried it and it works. No deer or rabbits came around no more but ... considering my yard is small we dont even want to be around due to the smell so we had to stop the eggs. But the bottles still stand so far so good . Thank you
So I'm assuming, you can brake those four heads off. And put them in separate pots to let them get bigger separately?. Love this vedio. Thanks for your teaching
Hello!!! Question? Can I use yellow squash mixed with the zucchini?
Thank you this was super helpful! 🙏🏼
Thank you for the valuable info you shared! My problem with deer was finally solved when I bought the Sonic Fortress Pro from Zero Deer. Awesome product and sincere recommendations for whoever is dealing with deer!
Does pine straw act as a good cover up for herb plants?
You can use pine straw for herbs. I wouldn't recommend it for long term use. It takes a long time to break down
I am glad to see this! I grow in pots or raised beds…. I have about 7-8 different herbs…. Thank you gif sharing!
I will try this today on my deck
That’s a shame. I’m waiting for the day that will happen to me.. hopefully not for a while!
May I ask roughly how long it takes can it be done from spring to fall?. I started this exact step one week ago and will be transplanted shortly in zone seven fingers crossed.
I'm in zone 7b. It can take up to 3 months because it's growing multiple heads. Give it extra time if needed
@@TheBigBlueHouseHomestead awesome great to know, No I followed the same steps as your video and I'm starting to see those little eyes there may be an eighth of an inch long and there is some color starting to go into them so far I see three and I have been soaking them in water but there haven't been any roots that have come out and when you pull it out to change the water the bottom of the cabbage shows some discoloration and almost like black spots and I don't know if that's mold. So I tried to change that out today and just clean it up a little bit without compromising any sort of root growth I'm wondering if I should just plant it in dirt right away and let it do its thing. This is a green cabbage I bought from my local grocery store but if I have any other questions I'll definitely reach out to you and thank you for getting back to me.
Doesn’t work at all! Tried it and it did nothing.
Two years later, do you still like the Tattlers?
Yes!! I really do like them. Haven't had an issue canning with them yet 😀
Question… can I collect cherry tomatoes.. put in frig or freezer until I get enough to make a batch of jars?
You can put them in the fridge. I wouldn't put them in the freezer. They would have to defrost before canning. They would turn to sauce in your jars.
@@TheBigBlueHouseHomestead thank you. I’ll try that.
Thank you for these tips! I'm confident to try Tattler lids on my own for the first time now. :)
👩🏾🌾❤🏆THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!🏆
what happens when they get bigger. is there a way to separate them so they can fully form.
What's the self life on these? Thanks great video and very informative
Spray permethean
I grow a huge row of swiss chard, my chickens love it.
I have never heard any one say that air bubbles in the jar will cause botulism?
Do you place it in a sunlight window while germination cuz I live in a below ground basement with upper tall windows that get lots of sunlight but everywhere else is pretty dark so I don't know if I keep it in the dark or do I put it in the windowsill with all my little seedlings I'm starting right now to plant outside.
Love the water bottle idea! I'm doing that next.
One additional step I do is when I start with setting them up to dry is i lay them on the side for a few minutes so the water on the bottom of the jar will drain off and then I stand them upside down. If i don't do it this way, water spots will form on the middle of the bottom.
Simple thank you
Lol it was a rainstorm in nj where we are used to it
Thanks so much ❤
I'm about to try this again. I did last year, but didn't put much effort into making it look right. I think I'll crumple up the whole bag first before putting anything in it, to make it wrinkled so over. I hope it does the trick this time. I have always had just two bees at a time. This year I've seen about 6 or more 😩
4:55 oh my I am holding my belly, you made me laugh so much. I enjoyed your video and Loved your honest opinion. I will definitely try out this year with stuff from our garden. We are in Europe, but equivalent to 7a zone.
Thanks for the recipe, I love to do things old fashioned way. I ll search you channel for more tips like this. And to see how the cucumbers turned out. Hope you're well and back soon.
Make sure you put that pepper on your kids plate before you feed them .
Do you grow these outside in the sun? And how do you prevent cabbage worms?
They also spread bacterial wilt which kills the whole plant. Arghh!
Perfect tutorial!! Wish me luck! 😝
I wish you luck!!! I hope you enjoy growing more😀
10000 percent doesn't work put two up under carport
NIIIICE! I'm trying this! How simple compared to other proposed solutions for carpenter bees! Thanks so much for the video!
Carpenter bees are punks.
Cook the cabbage leaves like collard greens
Thanks for this
Sounds great, but what if you font have this kind of time? Id dont think this is feasible time wise for me.
Wrks great
What if u used a burlap bag? The color is brown too, and if it rain, the burlap doesn’t change much. Brown bags might get too wet from rain and tear.
That's a great idea!!!!
Do other wasps stay away from other tribes nest too? Will it keep wasps say?
I don't know if I'll ever have clean-looking hands again. Picking blackberries, strawberries, and plums, then processing them has left them purple. Soon, the blueberries will be ready...
But wouldnt this ATTRACT wasps?
Your video is so cool! Never realized this! The loose outer leaves you've grown are quite nutritious and delicious sliced in thin strips and cooked in a variety of dishes. Thanks for sharing!
Will have to try it! TY!
DOES NOT WORK. My husband made this and it absolutely works. 15 carpenter bees in that orange juice bottle and counting.
